Many of you have been skiing Whistler Blackcomb for a number of years and every season seems to bring some new upgrades to the mountains. The 2014/15 season does not disappoint with the addition of some exciting and innovative technology on the mountain!

After 27 years, the old, sometimes uncomfortable, standing-room-only Whistler Village Gondola will be replaced by a new, sleek, comfortable 8 passenger Gondola with seating for all! The new cars will have floor to ceiling windows with gear stored on the outside for maximum space inside. This $12million project is expected to increase lift capacity by 12% with 4 additional cabins and more efficient loading, according to Whistler Blackcomb. The new gondola will be ready to ride on Whistler's opening day, November 27, 2014!

New Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) ticketing will also be available for the new season. RFID tickets or cards will end the awkward fumbling for your pass in the line up and will allow skiers/snowboarders to enter through an automatic gate – Look Ma no hands! The integrated RFID chip means new cards for all, so Whistler Blackcomb will be mailing them out as guests order them.

Other Whistler Blackcomb enhancements include trail upgrades, new restaurants, new lessons and kids programs, and upgrades to the already superior grooming fleet.

Time is running out for the early bird lift ticket program. November 15th is the deadline to order discounted lift tickets through Blackcomb Peaks! Email info@blackcombpeaks.com and one of our representatives will help you book your tickets and maximize your savings on lift tickets and other activities.
