For a different pace from the high gear of Crankworx, enjoy some of the great culinary events happening this weekend in the Whistler area.

If you’re a foodie and adventure junkie, then the Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival is the place to be. What is cheese rolling, you ask? Participants wearing helmets and padding chase an 11 pound wheel of cheese down Blackcomb Mountain, slipping, and sliding, and tumbling all the way down. The winner gets to keep the wheel of cheese, but even better, they win to season ski passes to Whistler Blackcomb Resort!

But that's just one part of this fun annual festival. Spectators can watch the race while enjoying cheese tastings, cheese making seminars, family activities, games, and more. This even it fun for the whole family Saturday, August 16th from 12-4pm.

Nearby Pemberton, BC is hosting two tasty events this coming weekend: On Saturday, August 16th, Araxi hosts its signature Longtable Dinner at Pemberton’s North Arm Farms. Guests will dine on a four course dinner prepared by a local Chef, using local ingredients. This is a scrumptious and truly special culinary experience in a setting that will blow you away.

On Sunday, take part in the 10th Annual Slow Food Cycle in Pemberton. Fantastic food, biking, music, and farms, all at your own speed on a bike make this day a delicious journey. August 17, 9am-3pm
