Whistler, located in southern coastal British Columbia, benefits from fairly mild winters with frequent precipitation and warm, dry summers. The Whistler Blackcomb ski season generally runs from late November to late May, with glacier skiing that extends through the early summer. During the ski season, Whistler Blackcomb typically receives 10.42 metres (410 inches / 34.1 ft per year). High temperatures during November to April range from 28 - 52 degrees Fahrenheit on average (-2 to 11 degrees celcius).

The snow and precipitation typically lets up by May, and the summer season offers a variety of activities to enjoy in Whistler. Many say that Whistler has three distinct summer seasons, as the climate and temperatures change throughout the summer months. Early summer in Whistler, from approximately late May through late July, offers the unique opportunity to ski on the Horstman Glacier, where many Olympics athletes train and coach at summer ski and snowboard camps. Temperature highs generally range from the low 60's up to 90 degrees fehrenheit (17 - to 32 degrees celcius). There's just something special about skiing on a glacier during the summer months, when the sun is bright and the air is warm. Tubing is also available on the glacier, and many other fun on-mountain events take place like BBQ dinners, dining at Hostman Hut, and riding the Peak 2 Peak Gondola and 7th Heaven Chair.

Mid-summer at Whistler Blackcomb, from late July through September, offers warmth, sun, and longer days, with the high temperatures ranging from the high 60's to the low 80's fehrenheit (15 to 27 degrees celsius). Whistler and Blackcomb really come to life during this time, with abundant wildflowers, and full access to the wide variety of beautiful hiking and Whistler mountain biking trails. Many of the Whistler hiking trails are accessible via the Peak Express Chair, a truly beautiful way to take in the peaks surrounding Whistler. Whistler also hosts an exciting lineup of events and festivals during the summer months.

Fall in Whistler, from September to November, is truly a magical time of year. The temperatures cool off and the leaves turn exquisite colors. Whistler Blackcomb fall temperatures range from the high 50's through the 60's fehrenheit (10 to 20 degrees celcius). The fall is still a wonderful time to experience Whistler's hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Visitors can still ride the Peak 2 Peak gondola during this time, to take advantage of the wonderful fall colors and alpine vistas.
