Some of the mountain bike trails in Whistler BC include the Lost Lake Park. This park surrounds a beautiful clean alpine lake. Lost Lake park is the perfect place to ride as there is something for everyone in the park and it is close to all of the amenities that Whistler and Blackcomb have to offer. Lost Lake park is a network of well maintained trails used for cross country skiing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer and fall. The main feature is of course the lake, with is one of the first swimming holes to warm up in the spring, making it quite comfortable to take a dip after or before a mountain bike ride in Lost Lake Park.
While you can keep to the main network of trails in the park which are rated beginner or intermediate, you should also keep your eyes open for single track diversions in the woods. There are a lot of them and they are generally beginner to moderate difficulty.
In addition to all of these amenities there is also Shaler’s Bike Land, a trials biking centre perfect for learning how to get the bike up, over and along those pesky logs and other obstacles.
As the cream of the crop of North America Mountain bike parks look no further than the Whistler Mountain Bike Park in Whistler Village. This massive network of trails is considered the best mountain bike riding in the world. The trails are a good range of difficulties from beginner light rides all the way to professional rider experience. The trails are patrolled, well maintained, and offer some spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and the lakes down in the valley below.
There are also several learning centres in the Whistler Bike Park with practice obstacles, ramps, teeter totters and all sorts of stunts. The park offers clinics, instructors, and some great freeride camps.
In addition to all the trails in the Village of Whistler and the surrounding areas, there is also the Epic ride, Comfortably Numb, a 24 km long ride with more than 4,000 vertical feet of climbing and twisting switchbacks. When visiting Whistler BC to experience mountain bike trails, this ride is a must.
